Fit for Business: The Benefits of Exercise for Entrepreneurs

Updated: May 29, 2023

Are you a service-based entrepreneur who spends most of your day sitting behind a desk? If so, you might want to consider adding exercise to your daily routine. Not only does exercise help you stay fit and healthy, but it can also benefit your business in unexpected ways.

Here are just a few of the benefits of exercise for entrepreneurs:

  1. Improved mental clarity: Exercise helps clear your mind and improves your ability to focus. This means you can work more efficiently and make better business decisions.

  2. Increased energy: Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural energy boosters. This can help you power through your workday and avoid the afternoon slump.

  3. Reduced stress: Running a business can be stressful, but exercise is a great way to relieve stress and improve your mood. Say goodbye to those stressful deadlines and hello to a happier you.

  4. Boosted creativity: Exercise has been shown to boost creativity, which is essential for entrepreneurs who need to come up with innovative ideas and solutions.

  5. Better sleep: Regular exercise can help you sleep better, which is important for entrepreneurs who need to be well-rested and alert to make sound business decisions.

Personally, one of my favorite things about being an entrepreneur is creating a schedule around the things that are important to me. Exercise if one of them. I find that it affects how I show up in significant ways (some of which are listed above). Changing it up from hiking to yoga to kettlebells to rucking has helped my muscles, brain, and endurance. Working out with friends and family is a bonus!

Some tools and supplements that I've found to be helpful:

Isagenix e-shot before the work-out

phone with a good audible book for solo rucks

clean workout hype Spotify playlist

Rebecca Louise Fitness YouTube videos

30lb weighted vest

headphones (I'm old school and still using wired ones)

Yoga with Adriene YouTube videos

yoga mat (I prefer the thick cushiony kind. lol)

be open to wearing as many layers as necessary

fanny pack or armband

good quality water bottle

multiple sizes of weights and/or kettlebells (5-35lbs)

hiking pole - depending on the terrain

AMPED Recover (post-work-out supplement)

So, what are you waiting for? Whether it's a quick jog or a full workout at the gym, make exercise a part of your daily routine and watch your business thrive.
